Ministry Internship
Pastor: Carl Friedel

“I took part in an internship at P1AG under Pastor Carl Friedel, to further my knowledge of ministry. The experience was extremely educational, spiritually challenging and professional. I would recommend an internship at P1AG to any aspiring minister looking for a taste of church function and ministry preparation.”

Purpose of  the Ministry Internship

This internship will be a structured and comprehensive medium for further discipleship training, development, and deployment in ministry. It will incorporate instruction and practical hands-on application of values and practices for serving people within the local Church. You will learn how to be responsible, conscientious, prepared, and consistent. Character and integrity are the bedrocks of following Christ and leading His people.

This internship is intended for the applicants growth. Although the church will benefit, certainly, it is designed to help the applicant's pursuit as a minister and as a person. As such applicants ought to prepare their hearts and attitudes to humbly understand the privilege and opportunity that they will be receiving and with gratitude recognize the sacrifices of those who will be making themselves available to mentor them in various areas of life and ministry. This will be especially necessary when one goes through patches in the process that are uncomfortable or challenging. Ministry can be hard and sometimes feel thankless and it requires tenacity and a strong commitment to ones calling to be successful. Thankfulness protects a person's heart in those challenges.

We believe that because you as an applocant are considering this and because there is a call of God on your life you have great potential and we want to see you achieve the dreams that God has/is birthing in you. We will encourage you to take full advantage of the chances that will be afforded to you to grow closer to God and to learn all that He desires to show you in this process. You will get out of this internship what you put into it, as Jesus said, “what you sow you will reap”.

Doing a ministry internship in a small city/ small church setting will give you a plethora of opportunities to get some real-world experience in leading and doing hands-on ministry. There may even be an advantage in a smaller context over an internship in a larger church in providing a fuller overview and experiences of ministries throughout the church. Your impact will certainly be felt in a greater way, as well. We are a church that is very active in outreach and places a high value on worship and biblical teaching. We would love for you to consider joining our team for a season and learning how to implement the things that you are learning academically in our context. We are looking for people who are ready to learn, serve, work together and grow.
